Where would I be without my MP3
By MelanieJane
From am to fm, eight track to cassette, cd to mp3. I can remember as a tween if I wanted to record a song off the radio, I must be ready to invest extensive amounts of time and effort into this process. What did it involve you ask? Ha! black electrical tape, and one of my parent's old cassettes they could manage to live without. I would strategically place the tape over the specific areas in precise little black squares that I had pre-cut for this such event. Then I would wait, for that one song I had waited for all day, to ultimately push those two buttons simultaneously, yes you know the ones, the triangle and the circle. For those newer generations these once where THE BUTTONS of all time. These were the buttons that made the electronic device of the century RECORD! Today it is SO MUCH SIMPLER!!! I watch as my son who is four, drag and drop, copy and paste, play and record music of his choice. I too live in a different era in time where music is now so easily reached. Digital technology has dominated the music industry and with good intent. I can remember days of trying to jog with a portable cd player, the anti-shake feature never worked! With the change in technology and music at my fingertips I can't help but say; "Where would I be without my MP3?"
